Find out how an industrial control systems integrator uses Cosmos to improve data accuracy, communication, and supply chain visibility across their entire operations.
“With Cosmos, anybody in the company can easily look up their project, see the information across the purchase order, sales order, assembly order, and general ledger in Business Central, and make a meaningful decision.”
With accurate data and deeper insights into inventory and purchasing, In Control can reduce delays, meet deadlines faster, and save costs.
With Cosmos, everyone in the company has access to regularly updated data and reports to exceed deadlines and reduce errors.
Thanks to the ease of use and extensive support provided by Cosmos, In Control experienced a smooth rollout – sharing reports in 3 business days!
In Control is an industrial control systems integrator that designs, assembles, and programs control panels for water and wastewater utilities across the Midwestern U.S. For over 30 years, In Control has provided these control systems from their small manufacturing facility, now based in Fridley, Minnesota.
Amid the supply chain crisis caused by a semiconductor chip shortage, the company decided to replace its outdated Sage 50 system and implement new ERP software with more robust inventory management capabilities.
After investing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, the In Control team discovered a need for advanced supply chain reporting and required an additional reporting solution. According to Anthony Bramante, President and Owner of In Control, “As a project-based business, we needed better visibility into our procurement pipeline and the ability to share it easily across the whole business.”
With a deep understanding of the small manufacturer’s unique reporting requirements, In Control’s current Business Central partner, Integrato, recommended Cosmos cloud reporting. Although they evaluated Jet Reports and an in-house approach, Cosmos had the ease of use, flexibility, and support they needed to increase their supply chain visibility.

“Rolling out Cosmos to our team was extremely smooth because we were able to reformat the data in a way that was consistent with the rest of our project process and make it easy for the average engineer to understand it – without any additional training.”
It took In Control and Cosmos about three days to build and configure their new inventory and purchasing reports. This base set of reports is now scheduled to automatically run three times a week to communicate updated supply chain information across the organization. “Rolling out Cosmos to our team was extremely smooth because we were able to reformat the data in a way that was consistent with the rest of our project process,” Anthony explains. “This makes it easy for the average engineer to understand every report – without any additional training.”
With 39 employees on staff, the regular supply chain updates and increased data accuracy in Business Central have helped move projects forward with fewer delays and errors. Even though In Control is still just scratching the surface in building Cosmos reports, Anthony said that his team is beyond grateful to finally have updated project information at their fingertips: “With Cosmos, anybody in the company can easily look up their project, see the information across the purchase order, sales order, assembly order, and general ledger in Business Central, and make a meaningful decision.”
As the primary user of Cosmos, Anthony said that his experience learning the cloud-based reporting platform was relatively simple and the support he received from Cosmos was exceptional, “The Cosmos support folks were incredibly responsive and helpful. They would dive into the report with us, making sure that we understood why it wasn’t working or what training we needed to make it work correctly.”
